The Lubovitch company is very pleased to offer friends of the company a special opportunity to attend the world premiere performance of "Love Stories" - Lubovitch's newest work - in Chicago on April 8th.  Lubovitch was born in Chicago and is proud to be able to stage the premiere in his hometown.  The dance was created in a collaboration between the Lubovitch company and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago.

Friends will travel to Chicago on Thursday April 7 (or Friday April 8) and will generally return to New York on Sunday April 10, 2005.  To preserve maximum flexibility for guests, the Lubovitch company is allowing guests to make their own travel and hotel arrangements.  (Although airfares to Chicago are quite inexpensive at the moment, you are free, for example, to use your frequent flyer miles.)

1 -- On Friday at 6:30pm, guests will attend the world premiere performance of Lubovitch's "Love Stories" by Hubbard Street Dance Chicago at the new Harris Theater, part of the new Millennium Park complex designed by Frank Gehry.  The new dance is set to a series of songs by Chicago's jazz legend, Kurt Elling.  Click here for more information on the theater program.

2 -- Immediately following the performance, guests will enjoy a black-tie gala party at the Fairmont Chicago featuring cocktails, dinner, dancing and a silent auction.  The gala is being co-chaired by Deborah Stonebraker and Meg Callahan.

3 -- The following night, on Saturday at 6:30pm, guests will be invited to enjoy wonderful views of the city (and insights into the dance) at an exclusive and intimate cocktail party with Lar Lubovitch at his private apartment.

Additional events are being arranged.  The package deal being offered by the company for all 3 of these unique events is $750.  (Of this amount, $500 is a tax-deductible contribution supporting the new works fund of the Lubovitch company).  If you would like more details or would like to attend, please email us as soon as possible, since tickets are extremely limited.

This spring, Lar Lubovitch will be creating a "new dance" as part of a collaboration between the Lubovitch company and the San Francisco Ballet.  Lubovitch will begin creating the dance in New York (using the dancers of the Lubovitch company) and will then finish the dance in San Francisco (using the dancers of the ballet company).  The as-yet-unnamed "new dance" will be about 30 minutes long and will feature about 16 dancers and will receive its world premiere in Paris on July 5th on the opening night of the city's new summer dance festival -- "Les Etes de la Danse de Paris."

For this special premiere, the city of Paris is building a unique outdoor stage in the courtyard (coeur d'honneur) of the National Archives building (Hotel de Rohan-Soubise), located in a magnificent 18th century palace in the fashionable Marais district.  In addition to the world premiere of Lubovitch's "new dance," the program will feature two other world premieres (by Paul Taylor and by Christopher Wheeldon).  The "new dance" will be performed by the San Francisco Ballet.  For more information on the festival and the program, click here.

To celebrate the world premiere, the Lubovitch company is sponsoring a special package trip over the 4th of July weekend (from Thursday June 30th through Wednesday July 6th).  The package will include travel, hotel, prime seating at the premiere, opening night reception, dinner with Lar Lubovitch and other exclusive one-of-a-kind events.  If you would like more details or would like to attend, please email us as soon as possible, since tickets are extremely limited.

But even before then - in fact right now - you have a chance to see the San Francisco Ballet performing Lubovitch's 2002 dance "...smile with my heart."  This widely acclaimed centennial tribute to the Broadway composer Richard Rodgers is being performed at the War Memorial Opera House in San Francisco from February 1st through February 12th.  The dance is also being performed by Ballet Florida at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach on February 4th and 5th.  For more information on tickets to performances by San Francisco Ballet, click here.  For more information on tickets to performances by Ballet Florida, click here.
